Time for Mercy. DVD – Conversations with Jesus from the Diary of St. Faustina
This award-winning video explores signs of God’s mercy in our time. It takes an unflinching look at the biblical witness of God’s judgement and mercy, the offer of God’s mercy in Christ, and the troubles of today’s world – from recurring natural disasters and environmental threats to the growing list of human tragedies.
This important topic of recognizing the signs of the Lord’s Presence in today’s world was also taken up by the current director of the Divine Mercy Apostolate in London, Fr. Dr. Lukasz Mazurek, MIC in the conference of the same name, which he spoke to the pilgrims who came to Walsingham for the annual national pilgrimage of the worshipers of Divine Mercy.
In his catechesis, Fr. Lukasz, MIC said, among other things:
“As the mystic of our times Benedict XVI wrote in his most beautiful document by VERBUM DOMINI (53): “In salvation history there is no separation between what God says and what he does.” So, if God said to me and to you: I want you to live, love, grow, he never withdraws his WORD, he never gives up on us and DOES, FULFILLS this love!
We often give up, we do not live up to our calling, we do not allow thoughts, let alone experience, that God can forgive me and the wounded themselves, hurt others without showing mercy. It is not a coincidence that pope Francis reminds us many times that God does not tire himself by forgiving us each day anew. And St. Sister Faustina assures us in her Diary (1507):
“Let no one doubt concerning the goodness of God; even if a person’s sins were as dark as night, God’s mercy is stronger than our misery. One thing alone is necessary: that the sinner set ajar the door of his heart, be it ever so little, to let in a ray of God’s merciful grace, and then God will do the rest. But poor is the soul who has shut the door on God’s mercy, even at the last hour.”
God is always open to us and even if we say “no” to him, He is always “yes” to us. We say NO because we do not believe, we do not trust God, and yet CONFIDENCE is the basis not only of the devotion to God’s Mercy, but also of all social relations. When getting behind the wheel of a car, I trust that both I and other road users will follow generally applicable legal standards and we will all reach our destination.
We wish, in this holy time our pilgrimage, with St. Sr. Faustina, pray with the words: JESUS, I TRUST IN YOU!
I TRUST that you have the best plan for my life, so I want to listen to it in my daily prayers.
I TRUST that you know my heart best and that you will answer the questions that arise in it every day.
I TRUST that even if someone close to me hurt me, you will heal the wound and let us return to unity.
I TRUST that even if the time of the pandemic has shown me how little I still love another person, you will teach me true love.
I TRUST that even if I still do not understand many things and cannot reconcile with them, thanks to Your grace I will not tire myself or others anymore, but I will accept and love my life, which you yourself created out of Love and for Love . NOW is the time of MERCY!”.
