Welcome!
I remember a wonderful story about an experienced elderly friar who went to a Christian Music festival, which was held in a large church. The concert was exceptional because its Christian music was being played out in rock by a young band that is known all over the world today.
The confreres from the monastery of this monk were interested in what this brother thought about the concert, which was dedicated to the young people who liked this kind of loud rock music.
When they asked him the next day about his impressions of the concert, which, to the surprise of his confreres, he endured until the end, the elderly priest replied, “Cognitively very interesting, aesthetically an unacceptable experience”.
Why am I relating this particular story to you?
For we too, looking at the Cross, can say, “Cognitively, a very interesting experience, but aesthetically, unacceptable in my life”.
We rarely think about the Cross of Christ, let alone wanting to accept it. We all prefer to look for easy options for our needs, quick solutions for suffering and evil, and yet, Jesus, the Son of God, wholeheartedly accepted his suffering, the shame and pain of the Cross and the self-emptying of himself.
May this time that we are living now be for us, Dear Marian Helpers, a time of renewal as we go through the Cross towards the morning of the Resurrection.
We invite you to join us in daily prayer which we broadcast from the Chapel of the Apostolate of Divine Mercy from Monday to Friday from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm.
Marian Fathers we are here for you!
