A call to proclaim God’s mercy to the world
Jesus’ teachings in the Diary of St Faustina not only allows us to penetrate deeper into the mysteries of God’s mercy, but also brings into the Church a new devotion to the Divine Mercy including calling each one of us to consistently proclaim this truth of faith with power. In the Diary, Jesus tells us many times: “Tell the world about My mercy and My love. (…) Do whatever is within your power to spread devotion to My mercy. I will make up for what you lack. Tell aching mankind to snuggle close to My merciful Heart, and I will fill it with peace. Tell [all people], My daughter, that I am Love and Mercy itself.” (Diary, 1074). This call to proclaim to the world the mystery of God’s mercy was addressed not only to Sister Faustina herself, but also through her to all priests (Diary, 50, 1521) and to all believers (Diary, 48, 742, 1075, 1225, 1572). Therefore, Dear Apostles of Divine Mercy, in gratitude for your service to our Apostolate, please continue to tell your loved ones, friends, neighbours and everyone you meet, especially those who are suffering or lonely, that God loves them very much and is always on their side! Let no one doubt Gods love, even if they find themselves in the most difficult situation in their life, because it is to that particular person that the Lord Jesus says: “My Heart is mercy itself. From this sea of mercy, graces flow out upon the whole world. No soul that has approached Me has ever gone away unconsoled. All misery gets buried in the depths of My mercy, and every saving and sanctifying grace flows from this fountain”(Diary, 1777). How beautiful and crucial to us are these words of Jesus. Therefore, let us use all available means to convey them to others, who often seek happiness where it is not to be found. In our apostleship, Dear Marian Helpers, we have included leaflets, and other materials that can help you to proclaim the message of mercy. You are welcome to purchase them in larger quantities to distribute to your communities or parishes. Proclaiming and spreading God’s mercy helps poor sinners come back to a life of grace, and the righteous achieve greater perfection, so that we can all achieve the goal of our earthly pilgrimage – Heaven!
Feast of Divine Mercy
The Lord Jesus said that on Divine mercy Sunday, “all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet” (Diary, 699). On this day, all people, even those who had not previously had a devotion to God’s Mercy and are just converting, can participate in all the graces that the Lord Jesus has prepared for them. The greatest of them is the grace of complete forgiveness of sins and all punishment related to the Holy Communion received on that day after a well-made confession (without attachment to the slightest sin), in the spirit of devotion to God’s Mercy, that is, in the attitude of trust in God and active love of neighbour. Therefore, let us prepare ourselves and others, Dear Marian Helpers, to experience this year’s Feast of Divine Mercy as sincerely as possible, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus who said: “Souls who spread the honor of My mercy I shield through their entire lives as a tender mother her infant, and at the hour of death I will not be a Judge for them, but the Merciful Savior” (Diary, 1075).
